Worcestershire welcomes the the Band of the Grenadier Guards for a commemorative charity concert to mark World War 100.
This year marks 100 years since the end of World War One. To commemorate this occasion the world acclaimed Band of the Grenadier Guards performed at a charity concert at Worcester Cathedral on Friday 14 September.
The Band of the Grenadier Guards, now it's in 333rd year was formed by King Charles II in 1685. It has provided musical support to many State occasions, national and international events in peace and in war. Throughout Britain's history the music of the Grenadier Guards has been the backdrop to its national life and identity. It represents Britain's constancy, dignity and artistry.
The commemorative concert included compositions of British composers such as Edward Elgar, Gustav Holst, Arthur Bliss, George Butterworth and Hubert Parry.
